How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Keeping busy

Muraho!

We have been busy since we last posted. On Tuesday we spent the day in Kayonza. We ate lunch on the shore of Lake Jambo, it was a nice opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Rwanda. We spent the afternoon at New Life Junior Academy. We sang for them, did a skit on love, and Tina did an excellent job sharing her testimony. After our presentation we spent the remainder of the afternoon playing with the children.

On Wednesday we spent the day in prayer and fasting in preparation for the Hope Rwanda Festival which began today. It was a neat exercise in sacrifice and we had precious times of prayer and worship as a team while we fasted. We also really enjoyed our dinner meal as we broke our fast.

Today was the first day of the Hope Rwanda Festival. We spent the early afternoon visiting the villages that surround the town of Kayonza inviting people to the festival this evening. We had many opportunities to step outside of our comfort zones to share God's love and our life stories with the people of Rwanda. The attendance at the festival tonight far surpassed expectations. There were so many there that the people were overflowing into the street and causing a traffic jam. There were at least 1,500 people at a festival, with an estimated more than 300 who came forward to accept Christ. We are looking forward to seeing what God does during the next 3 days of the festival.

Please be in prayer for the festival, for our health and stamina, and for continued opportunities to share God's love. Please also be in prayer for the medical team as they leave Friday morning to join us here in Rwanda.

We love and miss you all. We are praying for you and we appreciate your prayers for us.

Hey, so just fyi I am having my surgery sometime tomorrow. Not sure what time exactly but we have to be at the hospital at like 6:30 am and they are gonna squeeze me in. Its outpatient so I probably will get to go home without spending the night at the hospital. I'll let ya know how it goes. Keep on seeing how God wants to challenge you. Love you!

Love,
Ashley
